Get to Know Dr. Eunjung Shim
As our in-office periodontist, Dr. Shim has 15+ years of experience to share with patients in need, and her detail-oriented nature makes her a perfect fit for Rauchberg Dental Group. Why Did You Want to Become a Periodontist?
As a kid, Dr. Shim wasn’t exactly the best at taking good care of her teeth, which led to several visits to the dentist’s office. She was never afraid of these appointments, though – in fact, she found them fascinating and inspiring! She ended up deciding to pursue dentistry as a direct result of the quality care she received at a young age.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Shim completed her dental doctorate at Temple University in Philadelphia in 2004, followed by a General Practice Residency. After working as a general dentist for five years, she decided to return to school in conjunction with VA Hospital-Memphis to become a periodontist in 2010. Today, she is board-certified, which represents her commitment to clinical excellence and lifelong education.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
At home, Dr. Shim has a husband and a young daughter. When she isn’t busy caring for smiles, you can often find her going on long runs or taking Pilates classes.
